June 10th

We wake up and make pancakes, bacon, and cereals made from twigs and bark. Well it did have lots of fiber.

Bob and Janet mosey on out about 11 o'clock. Their plan was to go Dairy Queen. I think it best if we don't go 3 days in a row.

We prepare for the cookout. We called lots of people and said come on over between 4 and 7.

Hot dogs! Hot dogs, we need enough hot dogs to feed a small army. Buns, we need buns for them dogs. You can't have a pinic without chips.

A shopping trip we go. A shopping trip we go. Hi, ho the dario, a shopping trip we go. I think it took 4 trips to get everything we need. Good thing the store is close.

It is 4:15 is anyone coming? Am I eating hot dogs for the next month? We start getting worried. We had called a lot of people and talked to their answering machines.

Someone is knocking at the door. Somebody ringing the bell. Do me a favor open the door and feed them hot dogs.

Jenn Shepherd and kids show up. Husband Dean will be here soon. Last time Trudy and Loyd were together we couldn't get them apart. This time Trudy is glued to the computer screen.

More kids show up, April Kerr and 3 + 1 kids shows up. She had an extra, who liked to ride his skateboard on the side of the road. It would have been fine except it is a rual highway. Most traffic does not obey the 35 MPH posted speed limit.

Mary Beth brings some multi bean salad. MB goes to the back yard and the issue now is to identify what beans are in it. I overheard this conversation while bringing in cooked dogs. I'm not sure how long it lasted, but at least the time it took to cook 2 packaged of dogs.

Once the fire is started and the smores start cooking, all the kids start talking with one another. Just like they said at Hershey everything is better with chocolate.

Lester dropped by and wanted to see Castle de Schmidt. Finally Dave and Susan drop by right at 7. They stay till 8:30 and then Darby and Becky drop by. They stay till midnight.
