Happy Fathers Day
I wake up late to the smell of fresh waffles with ice cold apple juice. The kids have gotten everything ready and all I have to do today is drive the museum for a 2nd day of fun. Wow this is great fathers day.
Then I actually wake up. Shake the kids awake. Once they start eating and I go to dry the rest of the laundry, figuring I'll have to do the dishes when I get back. Alisa has mercy and does the dishes, then keeps me company while watching the dryer. Not much to see. You can't see the clothes tumble in these ones.
We head out about noon to the dog resort we saw. This is so we will not neet to tag team walking the dog. We bring Max inside get all the paper work done. He is missing his kennel cough shot. We ask if we can go get one, but there is a 5 day waiting period after the shot.
We travel on. Alisa spots another kennel. We stop at Camp Canine. They can take him overnight. We sign him up. They close at 4 and the museum closes at 6.
We get to the museum and it is empty. The crowds that were overflowing yesterday were gone. This is the 3rd Sunday they have been open so people haven't started showing up yet.
After finding our name on the charter member wall, we decide we are hungry and eat at Noah's Arc cafe. Yum!
The museum is wonderful. If anyone wants to go we have 4 reusable guest passes for free admission. Let us know when you need them.
They have a special effects theater. Derek, Alisa and I go in to see it. The kids and I saw it the day before. Alisa was concerned with the water on the chairs. 4he correctly figured that when they talk about the flood they would squirt some water.
When the flood part happened we got sprinkled and Alisa figured it was over after one squirt. By the third she is desperately trying to cover the nozel. She looks at me with the "Why did you not warn me about how much water they used." face.
I honestly replied, "The seat we were in yesterday did not squirt that much."
She did not believe me.
Once the museum closed the security dog, Jack came to make sure we were leaving the bookstore. The lady at the bookstore told us that, the other day, Jack took himself for a walk. He picked up the other end of the leash and walked around. How can we teach max that one.
We leave and enjoy a Fathers day dinner.
Tomorrow: The trip to see what is wrong with the rolling house of Schmidt
