Wake up and pack a day of clothes in case we need to spend a night in a hotel. Fold the trailer and go to pick up Max.
He is happy to see us. We head back towards north Cincinnati. We pull in to the RV shop. I walk in trying to find someone. There was an old guy asleep at the front desk. I try to wake him but he dosen't wake up. I search the place and I don't see a service entrance. So I try again to awaken sleepy. This time he does wake up. Tells me to go to the exit only sign in the back which clearly states customers are not allowed.
The official diagnosis is we have too much pressure in the tires. The side says 50 PSI cold. That is what I did. He says 45 max and I should run them at 42. I still think something fishy is going on here.
Since we are a day behind I get the tires filled to the now new recommended pressure and "Go west young man."
We get to St. Louis and try to find a place to park. For those of you not paying attention to the news. The midwest is flooding. It is obvious that Maggie is not paying attention. She keeps trying to take us down streets that are under water. Maggie if you want to go swimming just let me know.
After 1 1/2 hours of one way and cobble stone streets, we finally find a place to park and walk to the big horking stainless steel arch. We like the fact the monument is open late. It is about 8 and the tram to the top is still running.
After the ride to the top of the 630 foot arch we go the expansion of the west museum. In it there is a stagecoach painted in the Wells, Fargo & Co. red and yellow. But no mention of Wells, Fargo or their company.
Since we are behind we drive into the night and try to sleep at a Pilot travel center in Kingdom MO. Max is not sure what to make of this sleeping in the van. He eventually stops breathing on my hand and I fall asleep.
Tomorrow: Dorthy I think we are in Kansas
