I woke up about 6. The sun was just peaking over the mountain. I. went outside and prayed I could make it to gas. If God can make the earth in 6 days he can push my van to the gas station!

So I started off towards the last gas station I saw. 3.66 a gal. Not bad. Every time I got to the top of a hill I turned off the engine. I took note of which mile marker I just passed, just in case I had to find if AAA would bring me a gallon of gas.

Thank God, I made it. Just as they raised the price to 3.69. Darn! I don't know how much gas I had at the beginning, but I had 1 and 1/2 gal left.

I headed back to the camp and we packed up and took off. While heading out of Willcox we found another station selling at 3.49. Oh well.

We drove to New Mexico. Is it too much to ask to have at least 1 mile of good road? We stopped at the continental divide gift shop. Derek bought a new wallet. It said Arizona on it. Go figure a New Mexico gift shop with an Arizona wallet.

The thing I saw the most of was speed traps. Wow, with all that money from speeding tickets can't they fix the road?

We had to make a bathroom break. We found a gas station (it had an out of gas sign that looked 6 months old), restaurant And gift shop out of a horror movie. I was expecting the door to shut and the clerk to have us for lunch. The gifts had at least 5 years of dust and there was a sign that asked after wiping don't place the tp in the toilet. There is a trash can for that. "That's it I must leave quickly and touch nothing" I thought, "Will the clerk find it odd if I hold my breath while leaving?"

We had lunch at a rest stop in Las Cruses. I noticed the damage to the trailer from the tire tread I hit instead of side swipping an ambulance. Other then the dent on the front, the black water valve was broken and leaking.

Now kids another lesson in RV'ing: Gray water is from the sink and shower.

Black water is from the toilet.

Remember yesterday, we used the toilet. We dumped at the first place we could find. They were nice enough to let me have a pair of the rubber gloves for food service to try to get the broken valve to open. I stopped by a RV Parts store and bought a new valve. This should be fun.

We drove till we could drive no more, pulled into a rest stop somewhere in Texas at about 2 in the morning and slept in the van.

Stay tuned for more......
